Dani Nafría, the triathlete sponsored by Argelich Networks, finishes the World Championship of London in 24th place

The World Paralympic Triathlon of London has been a great experience for Dani Nafría, who was unfortunately delayed to a problem with his prosthesis when he climbed onto his bicycle. ARGELICH Networks has sponsored the participation of the young triathlete, congratulating him and encouraging him to conquer the next challenge.

The Barcelona athlete Dani Nafría finished in 24th place in the World Paralympic Triathlon of London which took place last Friday, September 13th in London. A problem with his prosthesis when he mounted his bicycle prevented the triathlete from finishing in a better position. “If I hadn’t had this problem, I would have finished the race in a better position. While I was solving the problem with the prosthesis about ten runners passed me,” explained the athlete.

Dani Nafría’s time was 1 hour, 29 minutes and 14 seconds after swimming 750 meters in open waters, traversing 20 kilometers on a bicycle and running 5 kilometers. Of the 35 participants, 7 were Spanish. “It is the first time that I have participated in an international competition. It has been a very rewarding experience,” he says.

The athlete of Sant Cugat (Barcelona), who will be 25 years old this Wednesday, September 18th, has taken part in the World Championship as a member of the Spanish team in the TRI-5 category, a class in which triathletes with moderated disabilities in their legs compete. Nafría could participate thanks to the bronze medal that he won in the Championship of Spain, which took place on June 22nd in Tarragona. The next challenge for Dani is the Half Marathon of Sant Cugat, which celebrates its 30th anniversary September 29th.
